Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data Daniel collects, why, and the choices you have. We keep data collection to a minimum and never sell your personal information. We process personal data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Daniel and your data

The landing page makes three promises about the assistant itself. Here they are in full, with a fourth that belongs with them.

• Your messages expire. The content of what you write to Daniel is kept for 30 days at most, then deleted. What he remembers about you long-term (people, dates, preferences) is stored separately as facts you can inspect, and never as raw conversation.
• Everything is encrypted. Identifiers and message content are encrypted at rest. The text of your tasks never reaches our analytics: usage statistics count events, not words.
• See it all, delete it all. Ask Daniel what he knows about you and he answers, in the conversation. You can correct a fact, export everything, or wipe it all, without a form or a support ticket.
• He doesn't play human. Daniel introduces himself as an AI in his very first message, and states his limits plainly: he is not equipped for medical, legal, or financial situations, and says so when one comes up.

Data we collect

• Your email address, only when you submit it to join early access or share it in the chat. We use it to contact you about access to Daniel and related updates.
• A random anonymous identifier stored in your browser, used to keep a chat conversation coherent. It contains no personal information.
• Analytics data, collected through a third-party analytics provider (see below). This includes the pages you visit, the links you click, and arecording of your visit: the pages as they appeared to you, and the clicks and scrolling you did on them. Anything you type into a field is hidden from the recording before it leaves your browser.

Cookies and analytics

Strictly necessary storage (such as the anonymous chat identifier) is always present, as it is required for the site to function. We also use analytics cookies, set by a third-party product-analytics provider. These give your browser a random identifier so that repeat visits can be recognised as the same visitor and a recording can follow you from one page to the next. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell or share what we collect.

To opt out entirely, turn on your browser's “Do Not Track” setting: we honour it, and with it on nothing is collected and no recording is made. Clearing the site's data in your browser at any time removes the identifier and ends any continuity between your past visits and your next one.

How we use your data

• To send you early-access invitations and product updates.
• To operate and improve the chat experience.
• To understand aggregate usage and improve the site (analytics).

We do not sell your data or share it for third-party advertising.

Third parties

We use a third-party product-analytics provider, hosted in the EU, to collect the aggregate usage data described above. Contact us at the address below if you would like to know which provider we currently use.

Data retention

We keep your email for as long as you are on the early-access list or until you ask us to delete it. Analytics data is retained according to our analytics provider's standard retention periods.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• request correction or deletion of your data;
• opt out of analytics at any time (see “Cookies and analytics” above);
• object to or restrict certain processing;
• request a copy of your data (portability).
